Certified Emergency Manager
Program
IAEM created the Certified
Emergency Manager Program to raise and maintain
professional standards. It is an internationally recognized
program that certifies achievements within the emergency
management profession. CEM certification
is a peer review process administered through the International
Association of Emergency Managers. You do not have to be an IAEM
member to be certified, although IAEM membership does offer you a
number of benefits that can assist you through the certification
process. Certification is maintained in five-year cycles. The CEM
Program is served by a CEM
Commission that is composed of emergency management professionals,
including representatives from allied fields, education, the
military and private industry. Development of the CEM
Program was supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),
the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), and a host
of allied organizations. Learn
more about the CEM Program.
IAEM Scholarship Program
The International Association of Emergency Managers established
the IAEM Scholarship Program to further the education of students
studying the field of emergency management. The mission of the
program is to assist the profession by developing students with
the intellect and technical skills to advance and enhance
emergency management. Learn

Support IAEM Scholarship Auction With Donated Items or Services
IAEM Headquarters is seeking donations of items and services to be auctioned at the IAEM 2006 Annual Conference & EMEX Exhibit in Orlando, Florida, to benefit the IAEM Scholarship Program. Please approach your local retailers for contributions, and report all donations of items (with their value) to Dawn Shiley-Danziesen, IAEM Communications & Marketing Director, IAEM Headquarters, 703-538-1795 or
shiley@iaem.com. If you are not attending the conference and plan to mail your auction item to IAEM Headquarters, please ensure that it reaches Dawn no later than
Sept. 15, 2007.
The IAEM Scholarship Auctions have been exceptionally successful during past IAEM Annual Conferences, raising significant funds for the IAEM Scholarship Program. Please help us make this years event an outstanding success as well and do your part to help the IAEM Scholarship Program by contributing an auction item on behalf of scholarships for emergency management students.
-
Past Scholarship Auction Hits. Some donated items that have been real hits in the past are: cigars, artwork (especially emergency management or fire-related), electronics (iPods, telephones, CD players), limited edition collectibles related to emergency management, jewelry, and collectible sports memorabilia. For other examples of past items donated for the auction, visit the Bulletin archives in the Members Only area and see Page 7, December 2005 IAEM Bulletin.

Want to Be a Donor, But Dont Have Time to Find an Item? Let Us Shop for You.
